Blogjammin’: J. Stout of Lo Fi City Takes Over the Herzog Blog

At Herzog, we operate as an ever-evolving team—and we’re happy to share that local musician and writer Jonathan Stout will be taking the reins, so to speak, of our online blog.

Jonathan’s lived in the greater Cincinnati area for twenty-nine years, and began playing music and gigging roughly sixteen years ago. “Over the years, the local music and arts scenes have become very important to me,” he shares.

“Given my interest and support of Cincinnati’s music history, the Herzog Music space caught my interest right away,” he continues. “I’m so glad that such attention and care has been put into preserving this historical location where Henry Glover, Hank Williams Sr. and many others made such legendary recordings.

In his role overseeing our blog content, he’ll work to bring consistent coverage of upcoming Herzog events, visits from traveling musicians, special guest blog posts, local CD and concert reviews, and a whole lot more.

A little more about Jonathan: five years ago he founded local music label Lo Fi City Recordings, which brings exposure to lesser-known acts by providing free annual music compilations. Jonathan’s also overseen event promotion for many Lo Fi City related events, and helped put out recordings by local bands including Butt, Tooth Lures a Fang, Little Trees and more. As if that wasn’t enough, Jonathan also serves as multi-instrumentalist for the bands Sleepy Drums, Mutt Fuzz and Sack Lunch.
